Terms of Service

Welcome to hobbi.me. By accessing or using our website and mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the platform.

1. About the Platform

hobbi.me is a marketplace that connects hobby class providers ("Providers") with people looking to discover and book hobby classes ("Seekers"). We facilitate the connection and booking process but are not a party to the agreement between Providers and Seekers.

2. Accounts

You must register for an account to book or list classes. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.

3. Acceptable Use

hobbi has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. When using hobbi.me, you agree not to post, upload, or transmit any content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, sexually explicit, discriminatory, or otherwise objectionable, and you agree not to engage in abusive behavior toward other users.

In addition, you agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content, class listings, or reviews.
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Harass, abuse, or send unwanted messages to other users.
• Attempt to circumvent payment processing or platform fees.
• Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the platform without permission.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or qualifications.

Accounts that post objectionable content or behave abusively will be removed from the platform. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms.

4. User-Generated Content & Moderation

hobbi.me allows users to submit text, images, and other content ("User Content") — including profile bios, class listings, reviews, and chat messages. We take active steps to keep the platform safe for everyone:

• Automated filtering. User Content is screened server-side against a list of slurs and severe profanity. Submissions containing this language are rejected before they are saved or shown to anyone.
• Flagging objectionable content. Every profile and conversation has a "Report" option. Reports are stored and emailed to our moderation team for review.
• Blocking abusive users. Users can block any other user from a profile or chat. Blocking immediately removes the blocked user's content from the blocking user's feed and notifies our moderation team. Blocked users cannot message or interact with users who have blocked them.
• 24-hour response. We commit to reviewing reported content and acting on it within 24 hours. When a report is upheld, we remove the offending content and may terminate the account of the user who submitted it.

By posting User Content you confirm that you own it or have the right to share it, and that it does not violate this section. We may remove any content that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these terms or is otherwise objectionable.

5. Payments

Payments for classes are processed securely through Stripe. By booking a paid class, you agree to the following:

• You authorize the charge at the price displayed at the time of booking.
• Prices are displayed in EUR and may be shown in other currencies for convenience using estimated exchange rates. The actual charge is always in the currency set by the Provider.
• Provider payouts are handled by Stripe Connect. Providers may onboard as an individual or as a registered business (SRL, PFA, Ltd., GmbH, etc.) — Stripe supports both. hobbi.me is not responsible for payout timing or Stripe account issues.

6. Cancellations and Refunds

• Seeker cancellations: You may cancel a paid booking before the class starts. Refund amount depends on how much notice you give relative to the class start time: 12 hours or more in advance — 100% refund; between 3 and 12 hours in advance — 50% refund (the Provider keeps the other 50% as compensation for the reserved spot they cannot refill on short notice); less than 3 hours in advance — no refund. Refunds are returned to the original payment method.
• Membership and bundle bookings: If you booked using a recurring membership or a pre-paid session bundle, the session credit is restored to your account when you cancel, regardless of timing.
• Provider cancellations: Providers may cancel a class. If a paid class is cancelled by the Provider, you receive a full refund.
• No-shows: If you do not attend a booked class and do not cancel in advance, you are not entitled to a refund. Membership / bundle sessions used for a no-show are not credited back.
• Exceptions: Edge cases (illness, emergency, technical failure) are handled case by case — email team@hobbi.me.

7. Provider Responsibilities

Providers are responsible for the accuracy of their class listings, ensuring a safe environment for participants, and complying with all applicable local laws and regulations (including permits, insurance, and certifications). hobbi.me does not verify Provider credentials or class quality.

Tax and social contributions. Providers are solely responsible for declaring and paying any taxes, social contributions, and other levies due on the income they earn through hobbi.me. This applies whether the Provider operates as an individual (persoană fizică) or through a registered legal form (PFA, II, SRL, Ltd., GmbH, etc.). hobbi.me does not withhold taxes on the Provider's behalf and does not provide tax advice. Providers earning above local thresholds should consider registering an appropriate legal form — we recommend consulting a local accountant.

Platform income reporting (EU DAC7). As required by EU Directive 2021/514 (DAC7), hobbi.me will annually report to the relevant national tax authority the identity and total consideration received by any Provider who, in a given calendar year, receives €2,000 or more OR completes 30 or more paid transactions through the platform. By onboarding as a Provider, you consent to this reporting and agree to provide the data required (full legal name, tax residence, tax identification number, and — if registered — business registration number).

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• hobbi.me is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• We are not liable for any injuries, losses, or damages arising from participation in classes booked through the platform.
• We are not responsible for disputes between Providers and Seekers, though we will make reasonable efforts to assist in resolution.
• Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the use of hobbi.me shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the preceding 12 months.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and software on hobbi.me are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our materials without prior written consent. Content you upload (class photos, descriptions, reviews) remains yours, but you grant us a license to display it on the platform.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to hobbi.me at our discretion if you breach these terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases, but provisions that should survive (such as liability limitations) will remain in effect.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Romania. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Bucharest, Romania.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
